A Meal We Won't Soon Forget
If our office seemed quiet one Wednesday in March, it’s because we took a four hour lunch.
More specifically, we had the pleasure of preparing and serving lunch for the 78 families staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Cincinnati. These are families with critically ill kids who have traveled from across the country and around the world to seek life-saving treatment at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
This is the 5th largest Ronald McDonald House in the world, providing food, lodging and respite for families who desperately need it. It is always at full occupancy and the need never wanes. According to the staff, the facility hosted 2004 families last year and had to turn away almost half that many.
Cincinnati Children’s is a valuable partner in our mission. We are well aware of the incredible work and world class contributions made at its research benches and bedsides alike. Cincinnati Children's is a community treasure. But this experience reminds us its beacon of hope is global.
