Genetesis Wins Nvidia Best Ai Startup For Social Impact
Congratulations to portfolio company Genetesis, winners of the Nvidia Inception Award for Best AI Social Impact Startup. The award comes with a $375,000 prize.
Genetesis is developing CardioFlux technology, a non-invasive biomagnetic imaging system that creates a 3D map of the heart's electrical currents that can tell a doctor whether a patient is having a heart attack or not.
“We are taking on the global challenge of chest pain triage in the emergency room,” Shrivastava said in VentureBeat. Genetesis was one of 14 finalists culled from 600 entries across three categories.
The finalists pitched at a Shark Tank-style competition before judges including Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun; Gavin Baker, portfolio manager for Fidelity Investments; Tammy Kiely, global head of semiconductor investment banking at Goldman Sachs; Shu Nyatta, investor for the SoftBank Group; Thomas Laffont, senior managing director for Coatue Management; and Prashant Sharma, global chief technology officer for Microsoft Accelerator.
"First, this is an incredible accomplishment and honor for the company," said John Rice, Director of Life Sciences at CincyTech. "Second, as investors, this validates our thesis that Genetesis is on the cutting edge of new medical applications of AI.”
Genetesis is a CincyTech Fund IV portfolio company which closed a $1.2M seed round co-led by Mark Cuban's Radical Investments in late 2016.
