In its 50th year, the International CES (Consumer Electronics Show) is one of the world's largest tech conventions, bringing more than 165k attendees from 150 countries to Las Vegas. Despite the name, the annual trade show encompasses much more than consumer electronics. It's become a launchpad for product and innovation announcements of all kinds and a hub of partnering, connecting and networking.
Portfolio company LISNR is exhibiting as a CES Innovation Award honoree in the Software and Mobile Apps category. LISNR, the world’s most advanced ultrasonic protocol and an emerging leader in the Internet of Sound, was awarded the recognition by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade press.
Other category honorees include Mercedes-Benz, Samsung and MasterCard. Additionally, LISNR won an IoT Breakthrough Award for Innovation of the Year in the Connected Car category. LISNR CEO Rodney Williams joined Charlie Key, CEO of portfolio company Losant, on a panel about the limitless opportunities for Internet of Things in enterprise, called "IoT: Looking Beyond the Gadgets."
The panel was moderated by Techstars' Jenny Fielding. Losant, an IoT developer platform, is a member of Techstars' inaugural NYC IoT accelerator.
Portfolio company Soundstr is demoing its music technology at the Gracenote booth and meeting with potential partners and customers. Soundstr has developed a patent-pending system to revolutionize the collection of song performance information in businesses, to help songwriters receive proper royalties and businesses pay only for the music they play.
