Christin Godale, Ph.D.

Christin Godale, Ph.D., is the Director of Life Sciences where she plays a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of CincyTech’s life sciences operations. Christin drives the deal flow and diligence of prospective biotech and medtech deals at CincyTech, collaborating closely with universities, academic institutions, hospital systems, and other life sciences stakeholders in the Midwest. She also assumes the role of steward for CincyTech's graduate student program, providing mentorship and guidance to the burgeoning generation of scientists aspiring to venture into the realms of startups and innovation.

Christin serves as a valuable member of the Ohio Third Frontier TVSF Project Selection Committee, representing Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati. Her multifaceted contributions reflect a deep commitment to advancing scientific innovation and fostering collaborative relationships within the life sciences community.

Prior to joining CincyTech, Christin graduated with a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Her doctoral research centered on the neurocircuitry of hippocampal dentate granule cells in acquired epilepsies, with a particular emphasis on exploring the influence of the mechanistic target of rapamycin pathway on this neural network. Christin’s doctoral work was supported by the prestigious Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, and a competitive Predoctoral Fellowship from American Epilepsy Society. 

Christin earned several awards during her tenure as a doctoral candidate, including a Trainee Professional Development Award from Society for Neuroscience, the NIH Outstanding Scholars in Neuroscience Award, the University of Cincinnati Presidential Medal of Graduate Student Excellence, and was appointed by the Governor of Ohio to serve as a Graduate Student Trustee on the University of Cincinnati Board of Trustees. 

Outside of the workplace, Christin is a dedicated patient advocate for epilepsy. Christin has been recognized and featured by organizations including Nature Careers, Boston Children's Hospital, Child Neurology Society, CURE Epilepsy, Society for Neuroscience, UC Health, and others, showcasing her commitment to raising epilepsy awareness and advocating for improved care. Christin serves on the Board of Directors for Epilepsy Alliance Ohio, the Governance and Public Affairs Committee for Society for Neuroscience, and the Early Career Membership Committee for American Epilepsy Society.

In her free time, Christin enjoys spending time with her husband, traveling and exploring new places, uncovering fresh cinematic and musical gems, and fervently cheering on the UC Bearcats.
